Enjoy a refreshing dip or just get your feet wet in the clean, clear water, which is kept cool year-round by several natural springs. However you spend your day float, Missouri's Elk River will provide beautiful, natural surroundings that include high, forested cliffs and lush foliage growing down to the water's edge. Featured Fish: Smallmouth Bass Fishing on the Elk RiverThe best time to hook the prolific smallmouth bass is in late winter/early spring and is available year-round. We recommend jigs and plastic worms as bait while fishing for smallmouth bass. The Elk River is one of the highest rated smallmouth bass fishing spots in southwest Missouri. Other fish species include largemouth bass, crappie, catfish and several types of panfish.

We offer both plastic and aluminum canoes. Each is designed for two people and, though a third person may ride in the middle of the canoe on the floor, we do recommend two people per canoe. KayaksOur kayaks are top-mount with a place for a medium-size cooler and offer comfortable seating and easy maneuverability.
RaftsOur new 4-man rafts are ideal for small families or groups. We suggest 1-4 adults with coolers and accessories per raft for the most comfortable and enjoyable float experience. Larger groups can take advantage of our 6-man rafts. Our Float Trip Experience on Missouri's Elk RiverOur float trips begin at our location in Pineville, Missouri or Mayes Landing and all end at our campground location in Noel, Missouri.
Along the way, you'll enjoy a unique and casual paddling experience. Upon your arrival at Shady Beach Campground, you'll enjoy the convenience of shuttle service back to Shady Beach Floats We can handle large groups! Elk River Canoe, Raft & Kayak ReservationsReservations are required on weekend canoe and kayak rentals with a deposit of $10.00 per boat, $35.00 per 4-main raft and $50.00 per 6-man raft. Deposits must be received within 7 days of reservation. Deposit is applied to equipment rental. No refund of deposit without a minimum 3 day notice. There will be a 10% cancellation fee. We float rain or shine unless Shady Beach cancels. If that happens, then you can reschedule your float trip within 1 year of cancellation.
